' WAIKATO TOURNAMENT [ CLOSING STAGES REACHED [raou OtTE OWN correspondent] " HAMILTON, Friday Play in the "Waikato Lawn Tennis Association's annual tournament at Hamilton to-day was interrupted by rain which began to fall late in the afternoon. A good exhibition of tennis was given by Coombe and Clow when they defeated Roach and Matuschka in the quarter-final of the men's ■ doubles by a largo margin. Results of games were as follows:- • CHAMPIONSHIPS Men's Singles.—-Quarter-final: Coombe beat Sharpe. 6—3, 6—2. Semi-final: D. Livingstone beat Andrews, 6^—4', 6—3. 11—0. Ladies' Singles.—Semi-final: Miss Plummer beat Miss Potter, 6—3, 6 —3. Men's Doubles. —Semi-flhah Coombe and Clow beat Roach and Matuschka, 2—6, 6—2, 6—l; Livingstone and J3." Dold beat Sharpe and Andrews, 6—4, o—3. Ladies' Doubles.—Semi-final: Misses N. and M. Beverley beat Misses B. Potter s.nd D. Dickey, 6—4, 7 —5; Misses Plummer and Glenny beat Misses B. and L.
