mm AKKAY OF STOCK PRESENTATION OF CUPS j ■ , RAIN AFFECTS ATTENDANCE Rain in the morning had the effect of reducing the attendance at the Clevedon Agricultural and Pastoral Society's 20th annual show, held on Saturday on the Clevedon Showgrounds. Rivers and streams were in high flood and some of the exhibits did not arrive. The rain ceased before 10 o'clock and the attendance giew to nearly a thousand people, who were treated to a first-class programme. The reputation of the Clevedon fixture for good horses and horsemanship was well maintained. This year there were 6ome splendid draught horses, as well as good hacks and hunters. In the cattle classes, all the dairying breeds were worthily represented. The sheep exhibits included some fine Romneys, Southdowns, English Leicesters and Corriedales. The quality of the Berkshire pigs was favourably commented tipon. .

The Championships The grand parade, which took place at 2 p.m., circled the ring twice and then came to a halt in marshalled formation in front of the grandstand, while Mrs. McPherson, wife of Mr. J. A. McPherson, president of the association, presented two cups to the winners. One was tho champion hack cup, won by Mr. A. Walker, with a maiden competitor, Cavalcade, and the other was the champion hunter cup, won by Dr. A. E. Moore, with Beaufort. Other championships were:—

APPOINTMENT OF JUDGES LIFE MEMBER ELECTED [from our own correspondent] CAMBRIDGE, Saturday The appointment of judges was finalised at a meeting of the executive committee of the Waikato Central Agricultural and Pastoral Association yesterday. They are as follows: — Horses. —Light horses, Mr. D. Crocker (Hawera); daught horses, Mr. T. Hogan (Matapu); harness horses and ponies, Mr. J. Gaddes (Morrinsvillo).

The secretary reported that the Cambridge Model Aeroplane Club intends to hold a competition at the show and was prepared to undertake all organisation and provide prize money and judge. The suggestion met with the approval of the committee and was left in the hands of Mr. G. Harris. The long-standing association of Mr. H. Wyatt, of Pairere, with the association, was referred to by the president, Mr. H. Crowther. Mr. Crowther said that Mr. Wyatt had been a loyal supporter of the show as an exhibitor and member and ho suggested that it would be some small reward if the association conferred upon him the honour of lifemembership. The committee wholeheartedlv agreed with the suggestion, and Mr.* Wyatt now becomes the eighth life-member of the association.
