RECIPES FOR DIABETICS Miss N.T., Heme Bay, would like (a) a good recipe for marmalade made with saccharine fr a diabetic patient. (In response to this and other requests, a set of recipes suitable for use by diabetics will be published next week), (b) A method of cleaning the bricks and hearth of a fireplace which have become dull and lost their colour. Lemonade from Fresh Lemons M.H. sends the following recipes for faking lemonade with fresh lemons, to add to those already published:—(a) Thinly pare the rinds of 16 lemons and , squeeze out their juice. Put juice and j feel in a pan, add ljlb. sugar and 1 gallon boiling water. Mix well till the | sugar is dissolved. Strain and cool for use. Bottle hot if to be kept a while. (b) Pare two oranges and six lemons and steep the skins four hours in 1 quart hot water. Boil l£lb. sugar in three pints of water a few minutes. Skim it, and add the two liquors to the juice of the six oranges and the dozen lemons; stir well and strain for use. Mix with water to suit individual taste. Requests Tomato Sauce. —"Hope," Russell, would be grateful for a good recipe for tomato sauce made without garlic.
