MORRINSVILLE CARNIVAL RELAY BANNER TO Y.M.C.A. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] MORRINSVILLE, Friday All the leading swimmers of clubs in the South Auckland Swimming Centre's district compctod at tho Morrinsvillo Amateur Swimming Club's open carnival this week. There was an excellent attendance of the public, nearly £2O being taken at the gato. Chief interest centred in tho men's relay race for the South Auckland challenge chain* pionship banner. Tho final for ttaa banner resulted in a win for Y.M.C.A. Club, Hamilton, with Morrinsvillo second. Promising Morrinsville juniors contested tho 100 yards club championship for tho Gummer Cup. The winner was S'. Hamilton, who last year was tho South Auckland junior champion of champions. Tho good time for tho baths of 78s was recorded.

So largo were the entries in tho handicap events that 6ix heats wero required for the men's A grade 50 yards handicap, and three heats for the men's B grade 50 yards. There were five heats for tho men's 100 yards handicap, and two heats for tho 220 yards handicap. At the conclusion of tho carnival Mr. L. I. Day. president of the South Auckland Swimming Centre, presented trophies to tho winning teams and individuals, and congratulated the Morrinsville club on staging a carnival that had brought out such keen competition.
