MAINLY FAIR AND WARM^|| SCATTERED RAIN IN NORTH The weather report and . forecast for New Zealand issued by the Government meteorologist last evening were as follows: —An intense anti-cyclone is still centred east of the South Island but pressure is falling in the north tfnd is low over most of Australia and the Western Tasman. The forecast is for easterly to north-easterly winds predominating, moderate to strong and rising to gale force in places north of Kawhia and East Cape, elsewhere light to moderate but later freshening. Seas rather rough to rough north of East Cape, elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to {:>•: strong north-easterly winds with moderate to rather rough seas.
