EDEN ELECTORATE

ORGANISER'S ADDRESS WELL-ATTENDED MEETING • The urgent necessity for organisation was stressed by Mr. T. G. Wilkes, organiser from the Dominion headquarters of the New Zealand National Party at Wellington, in addressing a large and enthusiastic audience of members and supporters in the Eden electorate fit the Gordon Road Methodist Hall, Mount Eden, last night. Mr. G. L. Taylor presided. Explaining the democratic constitution of the National Party, Mr. Wilkes said its aim was to create a permanent party organisation which would find scope within its ranks for adherents of all political creeds that were opposed to Socialism. Mr. Wilkes explained the methods employed in selecting the party's official candidates. Several new members were enrolled at the conclusion of the meeting and the existing committee Was greatly strengthened.
