shots fired at woman INCIDENTS ON CAR DRIVE ACCUSED FOUND GUILTY [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN, Thursday In the Supreme Court to-day Wilfred .Richard John Curry was found guilty on three counts, namely, that with intent to disable or do grievous bodily harm he wounded a young woman by striking her with the starting handle of a car; that he attempted to murder the woman by shooting her; that with intent to disable or do grievous bodily harm to the woman he discharged a revolver at her. The prisoner was remanded until Wednesday for sentence. Mr. Justice Kennedy presided. The charges were a sequel to an incident on November 29, when a young woman of 2JL was admitted to a private hospital in Dunedin suffering from extensive injuries and severe shock. She was a passenger in a rental car and it was alleged that the attack took place on Saddle Hill near the old Coach and v Horses Hotel on the road to Mosgiel. Assistance was given by two young men, Mr. John Snow and Mr. Arthur Jjawson, who were travelling from Outram on a motor-cycle. It is stated that accused fired shots at the young woman and r.lso at the two men. The young woman managed to scramble out of the car, after which the man made off in the car toward Dunedin.
