HARBOUR BOARD SEATS
LABOUR PARTY BALLOT FOUR CANDIDATES SELECTED Among the 21 nominees whoso names were the subject of a ballot, by Labour delegates at a conference in Auckland last week, the following four were approved as candidates for tlie Auckland Harbour Board at the municipal elections in May:—Messrs. W. J. Cuthbert, J. Sayegh, J. T. Jennings and R. E. Price.
The sitting Labour members on the board are Messrs. Sayegh and E. J. Phelan. The last-mentioned went to the ballot, but his nomination was not approved by the delegates. Mr. Price is the Conciliation Commissioner at Auckland. The Labour candidate for the North Shore scat on the Auckland Harbour Board is Mr. E. Sinel and not Mr. H. Dowd, who is a nominee seeking approval as the North Shore candidate for a scat on the Auckland Hospital Board. There were 25 nominees for the five seats on the Hospital Board, and the scrutineers have not, yet finished their checking of tho voting papers. Tt is expected that by this evening the final count will have been made.
