POPULAR GAME BANNED
DARTS DECLARED IMMORAL PROHIBITIONS IN NATAL DURBAN, Jan. 20 The Natal Licensing Board has declared darts an "immoral game." ]t is therefore illegal and may not be played on licensed premises or in any other public place. \ The Licensed Victuallers' Association is supporting dart players' attempts to remove the ban, which was due to a member of the board seeing a bet made. Betting on darts is prohibited throughout England. The board also regards darts as an incitement to excessive drinking, although a Durban clergyman declares that dart-players drink less than men who "'prop up the counter." All dartboards have been removed from hotels and cafes throughout Natal. The board has also banned dominoes, shove-halfpenny and quoits. i
