Good Home-made Floor Polish
When large areas of wood, leather or linoleum have to-be polished this is an inexpensive home-made polish. A quarter of a pound of white wax from the chemists, a quarter of a pound of beeswax and a pint and a-lialf of turpentine will be required. Cut up the white wax and beeswax and place in a jar, which should be put in a saucepan of hot water. When melted, stir up, remove from heat, and mix in the turpentine very thoroughly. Pour into tins or jars, let it set, and use as required. The polish should be used sparingly, well rubbed in with a rotary monnent, left for a few minutes, then well' polished off with a soft, dry duster. When'it is put down new linoleum should be rubbed generously with this polish before it is walked on. The wax will penetrate the pores, so that any subsequent marks will remain on the surface and can easily be removed with mere polish or with soajy water. '
