MORRINSVILLE WATER
IMPROVEMENTS TO SUPPLY [from our own correspondent] MORRINSVILLE, Friday While conferring with officials of tho Labour Department this week, tho Mayor, Mr. W. T. Osborne, raised tho question of whether subsidised unemployed labour would bo available for work on an extension to tho Morrinsvillo waterworks. Reporting __to tho council last night, Mr. Osborne said it had been considered that this proposal would bo favourably received, and, if this view wore endorsed, the high costs which had deterred tho council from going 011 with tho scheme at the end of last year would bo avoided. It was decided to ascertain if the department were prepared to grant a subsidy under Scheme 13 to enable tho council to carry out the improvements.
