CRUISE SHIP ARRIVES

STRATHNAVER'S VOYAGE AURORA STAR NOT SEEN Except for a constantly heavy swell, fairly good conditions were experienced in the Tasman by the P. and 0. liner Strathnaver, which arrived on a tourist cruise from Australia yesterday. The liner entirely escaped the stormy weather encountered during the past few days by others vessels making the Tasman crossing. During the voyage passengers and crew saw 110 sign of the staysail schooner Aurora Star, the only remaining competitor in the Tasman yacht race. It is unlikely, that the yacht should have been seen, however, for. being bound for Hobart, she was on a course considerably to the south of that taken by the Strathnaver, which has come direct from Brisbane. Tile Strahnaver had 981 passengers on board, of whom 22 were through passengers from London. Included among those making the round cruise from Australia were 233 from Freemantle, 77 from Adelaide,. 166 from Melbourne, 322 from Sydney, and 93 from Brisbane. It is probable that a larger number would have travelled, especially from Svdnev, had not the 150 th anniversary celebrations been in progress On the ship's arrival many of the passengers left on tours of the city and suburbs or 011 longer trips. Some will, rejoin the ship at Wellington and others will return before she leaves this ereuing for "Wellington and Sydney.
