STRATHNAVER ARRIVALS VISITS TO NEW ZEALAND BRIGADIER-GENERAL FRIZELL Two retired army officers and a third officer on "furlough from the Indian Army were among the passengers which arrived from Brisbane by the P. and G. liner Strathnaver yesterday. They were Brigadier-General C. W. Frizell, D.5.0., M.C., formerly of the Imperial Army, Brigadier G. Edward-Collins, M.C., director of remounts. Imperial Headquarters, Delhi, and Colonel W. T. MeCowen, Mho has just retired fiynn the Indian Army. Brigadier-General Frizell, who is accompanied by Mrs. Frizell, served Tfrith the Royal Berkshire Regiment during the Grelit War, being mentioned six times in despatches. He was promoted to major in the South Staffordshire Regiment in 1921 and attained the rank of lieutenant-colonel in 1929. From 1929 to 1932 ho commanded the I'irst Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment, being promoted colonel in the latter year. Brigadier-General Frizell was instructor at the Senior Officers' School, Sheerness, from 1932 to 193-1, and then became commander of tho Third (Jhelum) Infantry Brigade from 1934 to 1936, being engaged in operations on the North-West Frontier of India in 1935. Ho retired in 1930. With "Mrs. Frizell he will return to England by the Strathnaver. Brigadier Edward-Collins intends to spend a short holiday in New Zealand prior to going to England for the remainder of his leave. He is accompanied by Mrs. Edward-Collins. Colonel MeCowen is going to tho Taupo district for the trout-fishing. He will later proceed to England. Colonel MeCowen spent a fishing holiday in New Zealand about three years ago.
