FORCED TO RETURN
CHINA CLIPPER'S FLIGHT LANDING AT HONOLULU MOTOR TROUBLE EXPERIENCED (Received January 27, 5.5 p.m.) HONOLULU, Jan. 2G Pan American Airways' China Clipper was forced back to Honolulu as tho result of mechanical trouble experienced when two hours out en route to Midway Island. The machine, which was carrying 14 passengers, landed safely.
Mechanical trouble developed on the China Clipper on .January 21, when 700 miles out at sea, and the machine returned to California, landing at Los Angeles. The craft was stated to be in no danger and her motors were functioning perfectly.
