CHILDREN'S CAMP

SECOND PARTY RETURNS f HOLIDAY AT ONEROA The second party of 50 children returned last night from their holiday at . the City Mission Children's Cam)) at Oneroa, Wailieke Island. The Rev. Jasper Calder, who has visited the camp frequently, reports that the youngsters are in excellent health and have had a wonderful time.

New appointments at the camp, ineluding electric light, have proved a boon to helpers and children alike. Although it is considered that the risk of fire has been reduced to a minimum, tire drill is encouraged in the interests of safety and discipline. Sea bathing, boating and an occasional launch trip have proved very popular in the daily routine. Many of the evenings have been given up to concerts produced by the children themselves on their miniature stage, and talent has often been found.

The camp has been remarkably free from accident and sickness, and in spite of the dry spell there has been an abundant supply of water. Upward of 100 children have been accommodated, and these have all come from the poorer parts of the city. The institution will soon reopen as a family camp, and in this connection the City Mission and the Dock Street Mission will combine forces to entertain families who would otherwise be without a summer holiday. Mrs. A. "Wilkie has been the commandant of the camp, and Nurse Ida Watts has been in charge of the emergency hospital.
