OBITUARY

MR. W. H. CRAIG The death occurred on Monday of Mr. W. H. Craig, a Melbourne solicitor well known in business circles in Australia. For many years Mr. Craig had been chairman of directors of the firm of Gordon and Gotch, and at the time of his death lie was on his way to a business conference in Perth, Western Australia, together with officials of the company. The funeral will take place in Melbourne on February 2. MRS. MARGARET HOITAN The death occurred at Northcote yesterday of Mrs. Margaret L. Honan, widow of Mr. Timothy Honan, for JiO yours headmaster of the Oiu'lumnu Catholic Boys' School. The third daughter of Mr, Dillon Smith, 31rs. Honan was DO years of age when she died. She was born in Tasmania. The family came to New Zealand when Mrs. Honan was 14. and six* years later at Napier she was married to Mr. Honan, who was then teaching at Meanee College. Later her husband became headmaster at the State schools in Avondale and Greymouth. During their residence at the latter town Mrs. Honan was organist at the Catholic church there. Eventually, Mr. Honan came to Auckland, and was headmaster of the Onehunga school until his death in 1912. "Mrs. Honan is survived by one sou and eight daughters. There are (lo grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A private interment will take place at Waikaraka Cemetery, where herniate husband was buried. MRS. WILLIAM STIOHBURY The death has occurred in her 82nd year of Mrs. Hannah Stichbury, widow of the late Mr. William Stichburv, of Jlemuera, Auckland. Mrs. Stichbury, who was the second daughter ol Mr. and Mrs. Stapleforth, was horn at Rangiora, North Canterbury, in 18oti, her parents having arrived from England the previous year in the ship Cashmere. When she was 20 years ot age Mrs. Stichbury came to Auckland and married in the following year. Mr. and Mrs. Stichbury lived for many years at Epsom, and later at Takaptina. After the death of her husband in .Tune, 1018, Mrs. Stichbury moved to llemuera, whero she lived until her death. She leaves, a large grown-up family, and several grandchildren. Five of her sons served with the New Zealand forces in the Great War, three of them with the Main Body. Four «-er« wounded, but all returned to New Zealand.
