FESTIVALS OF MUSIC
PROPOSAL IN BRITAIN WIDE SUPPORT GIVEN (Received January 21, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Jan. 20 Sir Henry J. Wood, Sir Thomas Beecham', Sir Walford Davies, Sir Adrian Boult and others are planning an annual five weeks' music festival for London. The first is to commence on April 23, 1939, when the finest performances Of great music willjbe heard.
The scheme is designed to attract visitors from all parts of the world. Leading orchestras and music organisations ate supporting it.
