WHANGAREI ALLEGATIONS AN INSPECTOR REQUESTED [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] "WHANGAREI, Friday Repeated representations have been made to the Government regarding the operation of seine net fishing boats within the prescribed limits in northern waters. The detection of this offenco is difficult, as the fishing is often carried out by night and it is alleged that the names of some .boats have been covered. With a view to stopping this depletion of the coastal fishing grounds, organisations in Whangarei are approaching the Minister of Marine, the Hon. P. Fraser, with the request that an inspector bo appointed to the area. When the matter was considered at a meeting of the Whangarei Harbour Board to-day, it was decided to support the proposal.
