GIFT FOR MISS BATTEN

TROPHY FROM AERO CLUBS PRESENTATION IN LONDON [from our own correspondent] LONDON, Dec. 24 The trophy presented by the constituent clubs of the New Zealand Aero Club to Miss Jean Batten in commemoration of her flight from England to the Dominion, was officially handed to her by the High Commissioner, Mr. W. «J. Jordan, at New Zealand House yesterday afternoon. It was Miss Batten's first public apearance since her recent illness.' The trophy is in the forpi of a silver globe surmounted by a replica in silver of Miss Batten's aeroplane. Round the globe a silver band shows the route of her* flight. It has a wooden base in which a clock is inset.
