NEW METAL ALLOY
PROTECTION FRdM RAYB MORE EFFECTIVE THAN LEAD (Received January 19, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 18 The development of a new alloy nearly one and a-half times as heavy as lead, and correspondingly more effective as a protection against X-ray and radium radiation, is revealed by Mr. E. Liddiard, of the British Non-Ferrous Metals Association. _
The alloy is composed of tungsten powder mixed -with nickel and copper powders. It is subjected to considerable pressure and heated above ,the melting point of copper and nickel.'
