THIRD HEALTH CAMP

HOLIDAY FOR CHILDREN DEMAND FOR ACCOMMODATION The third camp for children, conducted by the Community Sunshine Association, opened at Motuihi Island yesterday, when a large group of children from the City left by the Hauiti. The camp contains its full complement of 150 children, consisting of an equal number of boys and girls, and although it will be the final Sunshine Association camp, others will be held until the end of May under the control of the Auckland Central Council of the National Health Camp organisation.

The children will be given a fortnight's holiday on the island, where they will enjoy the maximum of fresh nir and sunshine and will be given plain and wholesome food under careful supervision. Although for under-nourished children a period of three weeks at the camp is generally considered necessary, the camps have been shortened to a fortnight this year owing to the heavy demand for accommodation, both from the City and country districts. When the camps conclude between 1200 and JSOO children will have been accommodated, about double the number of last year. The Community Sunshine Association has given a holiday to 450 children.

One hundred and fifty children from tho Thames districts will be sent to Motuihi for the next camp, opening iu a fortnight's time.
