TROUT FISHING CONDITIONS
Sir, —Your article of Tuosdaj' re conditions at Taupo is entirely true. Miles of good fishing could bo opened up if only the Department did its obvious duty, seeing the amount of revenue it derives from licences. For instance there is somo lovely water opposito Wairakei quite inaccessable through lack of a track through tho dense scrub. Opposito Pye's Camp, where the private bank of the Waikato above Huka Falls lias been cleared and approaches to tho river constructed, there is fishing for many more rods than on the opposite side, which is open to all anglers." On this side tracks and fishing positions are only kept open by queues of anglers anxiously searching for a vacant place to fish. It is the same at Tokaann, Tauranga, Taupo and Waitahanui, whose upper waters later 011 in the season would give such excellent sport if only made accessable. A Licence Holder.
