GIFT OF A VAN DYCK ACADEMY EXHIBITION .. British Wireless RUGBY, Jan. 8 Mr. Anthony de Rothschild, financier, has presented to the National Gallery Van Dyck's picture, "The Abbe Scaglia Adoring the Virgin ,and Child," The gift was made in memory, of Mr. de Rothschild's great aunt, 'Louisa, Lady de Rothschild, and her daughter. The Royal Academy winter exhibition of 17th century art. in Europe opened to-day. With one exception all the pictures shown are owned in England.
