THEFT 14 YEARS AGO
MAN ON -ANOTHER CHARGE EARLIER OFFENCE ADMITTED [by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] . v -,- DUNEDIN. Friday When John Lee Aston, aged 43, was arrested", for theft early in the month the police discovered that he was still wanted on a charge of burglary committed/in Dunedin in December, 1923. ■ Aston appeared in Court this morning and admitted the 14-year-old charge. In view "of the lapse of time the burglary charge was jreduced to. ■one of theft., 1 * - The police stated that accused had been, in England, .Canada and North and ; South America, 'returning to New Zealand six months- ago. He -then came to Dunedin and lost air he had at the Forljury trotting meeting. Accused' said _ he was „ married in England, where'-his wife was working for th&SLondon Countv Council. On the pld charge he was sentenced to six-months' imprisonment,, and on the Other to one month, the sentences to be concurrent.
