DIVORCE PENDING
FAMOUS BRIDGE PLAYERS STILL PARTNERS AT CARDS (Received December 1, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. Nov. 30 Mr. and Mrs. Ely Culbertson have announced that they are seeking to divorce each other, but that they will remain as bridge partners. "His temperamental moods make living with him impossible," said Mrs. Culbertson Mrs. Culbertson and their three children receive regularly 100,000 dollars, half the annual income of Culbertson Incorporated. Mr. Ely Culbertson was born in Russia in" 1891, his father being an American engineer and his mother the daughter of a Cossack chief. He had an adventurous career after returning to the American continent and then, in New York, married Miss Josephine Dillon, an expert card player. Under her advice he took up bridge and in a few years was one of the leading players of the world.
