ELECTRIC STREET LAMPS Great interest was aroused in Auckland half a century ago by the nouncement that electric lights would be seen in the streets during the Christinas season. Following is an extract from the Nkw Zkal.vnd Hkrald of December 2, 1887: — "If all goes well the good citizens of Auckland will be basking in the mystic moon-like electric light during the Christmas holidays.
