MINISTER AT RAGLAN
TAR-SEALING OF HIGHWAY [frost our own correspondent] HAMILTON, "Wednesday A special visit was paid to Raglan yesterday by the Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, for the purpose of opening the annual show of the Raglan Horticultural Society which this year took the form of a competition between town and country. In opening the show the Minister congratulated Raglan on the many modern homes being built, this being due, he said, to the improvements being carried out in the 'Hamilton-Rag-lan main highway. The tar-sealing of the road would, he hoped, be completed by this time next year and it was possible that the tar-sealing would extend right to the beach. The show resulted in a narrow jvin for the country by 542 points to 340, the possible being 650. Mrs. W« Moore received the cup on behalf >o* the country team. -
