SHIPPING COMPANY OFFICE!? MR. R. A. BACK RETIRING [by telegraph—own correspondent] WELLINGTON. Wednesday The Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Limited, announces that Mr. R. A. Back, who has represented the company at San Francisco sinM January, 19i2, is retiring on superannuation on December 31, 1937 v when a is his intention to return to.New Zealand to take up permanent residence. Mr. Back joined the service of to® Union Company on May 12, 189/, J n the Hobart branch, and after serving' n the head office, Wellington, and the Lyttelton office; was in July, 1905, ap* pointed sub-manager at Bluff. Th H '' position he held until April, ip,; when he was promoted tc chief clers at Melbourne. In January, 1912, MrBack was appointed the company's representative at San Francisco.
