Rait Kerr, the former Scottish cricketer, presiding at the counties conference, said the New Zealandcrs had helped to make the season a success. Their bowling was remarkably strong. In the more important matches the gates were better, probably because the games were played better. Supporters wanted to see aggressive batting and fielding, and not an idol making 300 rung.
BENEFIT MATCH PLAY ABANDONED MORE RAIN AT ADELAIDE FUND FOR BENEFICIARIES (Received December 1, 5.30 p.m.) ADELAIDE. Dec. 1 Further rain last night caused the abandonment of tho benefit cricket match which was a complete disappointment. The gate receipts for the two days of play amounted to £619, but with the funds in hand and expected, Richardson and Grimmett should receive more than £BOO each.
