STEAMER LINE ACTIVITY BILL IN UNITED STATES (Received November 30. 6 p.m.) WASHINGTON. Nov. 29 The development of the United States mercantile marine toward air transport is foreshadowed in a bill introduced in the House of Representatives. / The bill, which is designed to broaden the powers of the Maritime Commission, includes an amendment to give the commission jurisdiction over wean air services, 1 It also seeks to authorise the granting of subsidies to steamship lines for the purpose of building up their own *ir services.
