THIED TIME THIS YEAS 1 premises ransacked 1 BUNCHES- OF KEYS TAKEN • J [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday Thieves broke into the Hamilton East school last night and, after rifling a desk and cupboard in the headmaster's office and taking possession of two large bunches of keys, opened prac- :■ ticalJ.v all the drawers and cupboard in the school, stealing odd cash and sundry .school requisites. This is the third time this vear, and the fourth time in all. that a forced entry has liecu made at the school. Admission was gained by the intruders —it is believed by ' detectives that more than one person was responsible for the burglary—by neatly cutting a small hole in the u 'ndmr of the headmaster's study before reaching through and pulling up. the window catch. After prising open the door of a Hi large cupboard in the study with a pair of scissors, which-were broken under the strain, the thieves found a bunch of kevs. With one of these they opened the draw of the headmaster's desk and took a second bunch of keys. They then had in their possession keys to lit practically every lock In the school. Almost, every drawer and cupboard in the junior division of the school was opened and rilled,: a few odd pennies and small articles, such -as children's pencil sharpeners, being stolen. No great damage was done by the, intruders, but the headmaster. .Mr, W. A. Curtcis, stated to-day that the removal of the keys, about 25 in all, was causing his staff great inconvenience. • : : ■„
