MORRINSVILLE WATER
MEETING THE DEMAND [BY TELEGEAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] MORRINSVILLE, Tuesday ' A special meeting of ths Morrinsville Borough Council was held last evening to discuss the water supply. The Mayor said that, unless something was done to increase the supply to the borough, the council could not continue to meet the demands of the extraordinary consumers as well as tho ratepayers.Mr. McPherson moved:—"That, in the opinion of the council, the time is not opportune for the expenditure of money on a reservoir" (estimated by Mr. Gray to cost £8800). Other mem- - bers supported the motion, which was v. carried, the Mayor dissenting. It was decided to "have the chlorina- . ting plant near the dam put in. order. A letter was received from the New 7 Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, inquiring as to the supply of - water for its Morrinsville factory. It was decided, on the motion of the Mayor, *to instal a booster pump- as suggested by Mr. Gray at a point on., tho pipeline just outside the borough It was considered that this pump would increase the quantity of water available, and satisfy the needs of the extraordinary consumers. Mr. Gray is to be instructed to procure and instai a booster pump at onco.;
