BOXERS FOR GAMES

TWO AUCKLANDER3 CHOSEN The selection of the Aucklnnders, H. Sheridan, flyweight, and K. Moran. feather-weight, to represent New Zealand at the British Empire Games in Sydney next February will be pleasing to the supporters of boxing in Auckland. Both won their respective divisions at the Auckland and New Zealand championships, Sheridan being awarded the Jameson Belt for the most scientific exhibition at the latter tournament.

B. McKay, another Aucklander, was runner-up to Moran in the Now Zealand championships, being unable to compete on the linal night owing to an injury to an eye. At a carnival at the Auckland Town Hall at the beginning of last month, however, McKa.v clearly outpointed Moran, and there are many of McKay's friends who consider him unfortunate in not being chosen to represent the Dominion in Sydney.
