NORTH SHORE CARNIVAL FAST 100 YARDS SPRINTS N. CRUMP AND R. B. FRANKHAM Two first-class sprinters, N. Crump and R. B. Frankham, swam 100 yds. in fast time at the North Shore Amateur Swimming and Life-Saving Club's carnival in the Tepid Baths last night. Crump was the speedier. In the fourth heat of the 100 yds. open handicap he was timed at 555, and in tho final he registered 55 2-ss. Frankham took 56 2-5s in the first heat, and 55 3-5s in the final; This race, in which Crump was third, was won by D. Yates, who had a start of 15s. Prior to competing in the 100 yds. event, Crump won the 50yds. championship of the North Shore Club in 25 1-os. Showing improvement. Miss Y. Coulthurst offered spirited opposition in the last 15 yards of the 100 yds ladies' handicap to the Auckland champion, Miss K. Gray, from whom she received one second and dead-heated with her for 'first place. Miss Grey's time was 6Ss, and Miss Coalthurst's, 695. The inter-services relay resulted in a win for the Police team, and the ladies' business houses' relay was won by Milne and Choyce, Limited.
