LAND FOR AERODROME

COMPULSORY ACQUISITION £12,018 COMPENSATION CLAIM [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION"] NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday The compulsory acquisition under the Public Works Act of land for the extension of the New Plymouth airport was the subject of proceedings in the Supreme Court to-day; when the previous owner,-"Mrs. R. L. Barclay, of Waitara. claimed from the New Plymouth Borough Council £12.018 33 compensation for all . the loss arising out of the land being taken and its severance from her farm.

The claim comprised £8314 as th 9 value at £75 an acre of 109 acres taken with the buddings and improvements, and £3703 as the value of the remaining 183 acres injuriously affected by the severance. The hearing of the evidence will be continued to-morrow.
