TEMPERANCE WORK
The annual meeting of tho Auckland evening branch of the Women's Christian Temeprance Union was held on Tuesday. Mrs. Cherry presided. The report of the year's work showed steady progress. The followins officers wer£ elected: —President, Miss G. EvVns; vice-president. Miss A. Watson: secretary. Miss J. Cowan; treasurer. Mrs. Patterson; Loyal Temperance League superintendent, Miss Jr Cowan: pianist. Miss Watson. A recitation by Mrs. Cherry and a pianoforte solo bv Miss Watson were enjoyed. A ■; „ „ V .....
