TECHNICAL TOURNEY FURTHER BOUTS DECIDED HIGH STANDARD REVEALED Preliminary contests in the .annual boxing championships of the Seddon Memorial Technical College were continued yesterday in the college hall. The high standard revealed in previous bouts -was maintained and some splendid contests are anticipated when the linals are decided next Thursday, commencing at 8 p.m. Tim Australian heavy-weight champion Claude Nichol was present yesterday and gave the competitors some useful advice. He said that ho was greatly impressed by the goneral standard. Members of the Auckland Boxinn Association also attended, Messrs. \V. Brien and G. Bush acting as referees. Mr. Brien intimated his intention of presenting to Howe, who went through to the finals in both tho light and welter-weight divisions, a special trophy in recognition of his fine performances. The organiser of the tournament, Mr. H. P. Lceves, who is the college's instructor, thanked the officials of the Auckland Boxing Association for their assistance and the loan of ttie ring.
