STILL MOSTLY FINE MILD DAY TEMPERATURES The weather report and forecast for New Zealand, issued last evening by the Government meteorologist, were as follows: —The general situation remains practically unchanged.;An anti-cyclone still covers the 'J'asman Sea and extends on to thp Dominion. Secondary depressions continue to a fi'cet the southern portion of the South Island, a rather deep one having passed to-day. Conditions are somewhat disturbed in the north Tasinan Sea. The forecast is for south-westerly winds predominating, but north-westerly or westerly prevailing in most eastern districts, and about Cook and Foveaux Straits, moderate to strong generally, and of gale force at times in the latter areas. Seas rough in the Cook and Foveaux Straits areas and a considerable, swell oil the west coast of the South Island; elsewhere flight to moderate. SPECIAL AUCKLAND ; FORECAST MAINLY FAIR, FEW SHOWERS The Government meteorologist issued to the Herald last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province: —Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds. The weather is likely to be mainly fair, but a few isolated showers are probable, more especially in the western areas. Temppratures moderate. Seas moderate generally, but rather rough on parts of the west coast.
