EXPORTS OF SCRAP
NEW ZEALAND PROHIBITION JAPANESE COMPLAINT (Received October 19, 8.5 p.m.) TOKIO, Oct. 18 Commenting on New Zealand s prohibition of the export of iron scrap and tin scrap to Japan, Mr. Uchida, a leading industrialist, said it was very disappointing considering that Japan had established a special New Zealand line to try to foster trade for the benefit of both countries.
The Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, made it clear recently that the prohibition of the export of scrap applied to all countries and not especially to Japan.
