BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED
MORRINSVILLE GIRL GUIDES The Morrinsville Girl Guides Company celebrated its 12th birthday, and the 11th birthday of the Brownie pack, with a party arranged by the ladies' committee and held in the Parish Hall. After tea the girls entertained this committee members with folk dancing and games on the lawn. Later various trophies competed for by the patrols were presented as follows : £L -Cup for dancing, Fuchsia Patrol and Red Rose Patrol; picture for Bulging, Fuchsia Patrol; cup for general knowledge and efficiency, Fuchsia Patrol; shield for best collection of garments, Bluebell Patrol. These garments will be sent to the Salvation Army's Children's Home in Hamilton. A Fijian mat, presented by a-former Guide, Miss L. Price, of Fiji, for the best all-round Guide, was won fey Yvonne Hutchings. A large number of badges and service stars were also presented to the Guides. On behalf of the committee. Mrs. C. M. Glimmer presented the captain of the company, Miss Hewson, with a parchment writing compendium and expressed appreciation of her pood work for the Guides and Brownies. Mis. Gummer also presented a leather-work blotter to the captain. The Guides also made a presentation to their captain., of a piece pf china. Miss A. Irvine was presented with a photograph album by the captain as a token of appreciation.
