FIIANKTON QUOTATIONS SHEEP VALUES DECLINE BEEF REMAINS FIRM [fhom our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday Values for all classes of fat sheep were easier at the Frankton stock sale to-day, a decline of Is 6d a head being bhown, Prime ewes, however, realised up to last week's rates. There was a smaller entry of hoggets and a lighter demand. A good yarding of all classes of cattle came forward, with a smaller offering of ox beef, which sold firmly 011 a par with last week's realisations. Cow and heifer beef also sold under steady competition with values remaining firm. A medium yarding of boner cows sold fully at schedule rates. Individual beef consignments included a truck of prime steers from Mr. 11. H. Hall, Cambridge, -which sold from £l3 7s 6d to £l6 os, and averaged £l4 14s. Lighter prime steers from Glencoe Farm sold from £l2 17s 6d to os, while prime cows from Mr. R. H. Hall realised up to £ll 12s 6d, and Polled Angus cows offered on account of Mr. J?. F. Hall, Walton, sold from £8 12s 6d to £8 17s 6d. A full yarding of fat pigs came forward, with competition keen. The prices realised were slightly in advance of those ruling last week. The offering comprised many pens of good quality grown steers, also a stood yarding of two-year-old steers. There was a large and representative bench of buyers from all parts of the district in attendance, and bidding on all male cattle was fairlv brisk, and late values fully maintained.
