NEW GOLF GREEN
use at one Tree hill
The new second green at the Maungakiekie Golf Club's course \vhich was brought into play for the first time at the week-end, increases the length of the hole from <IOO to 4KO yards. .As the grade rises sharply near the green, only under very conditions will the average hitter reach it in two. Normally the third shot will call for a pitch to a green mounded at the back and on each side. As the fall at the narrow entrance is slightly to the left, a severe bunker extending into the green on that wing will spell disaster for many who are short and especially tor thofsc who attempt to approach the hole other than from the right of the fairway.
