GUILTY OF RECEIVING
CASE AGAINST LABOURER REMANDED FOR SENTENCE Charges of breaking and entering by night tho dwelling house of Mrs. M. Taylor, 46 "View Road, Mount Eden, and stealing a watch, fountain pen, purse and 15s in money, of a total value of £l9 16s, were preferred against John Francis Schdroski, a labourer, aged 32, in the Supremo Court yesterday. There was an alternative charge oi receiving stolen goods. Sir. Justice Callan presided. Mr. Hubble appeared for the Crown and Mx. Noble represented accused. Evidence was given by the owners of the property, and a woman assistant at a second-hand dealer's shop stated that on the morning after the night of the burglary at Mount Eden accused sold one of the stolen suits to her. She said there was no question of accused's identity.
The jury returned with a verdict of guilty on the charge of receiving. Accused was remanded for sentence.
