MEAGRE INCOME
FAMOUS SINGER MADAME TETRAZZINI'S LOT LONDON, Oct. 4 Madame Tetrazzini, the famous operatic singer, whose triumphs at Covent Garden, the Scala and the Metropolitan earned her £1,000,000, at present depends upon a meagre income by giving singing lessons. Aged 07 -years, the singer's hair has turned grey, but has -been dyed red. She lives in a frugal home in Milan. Madame's prodigal generosity and an unhappy marriage in 1926, followed by lawsuits, reduced her to performing in a variety performance with acrobats and vaudeville dancers in an American provincial cinema show. Some of her notes are still wonderful.
