MEETING OF TAMAKI BRANCH The annual meeting of the Tainaki branch committee of the British and Foreign Bible Society was held in the St. Heliers Presbyterian Church this week. The balance sheet showed that £3O had been collected in the district during the year. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mrs. E. M. Patersou; vicepresidents, Mesdames Baskett, Cartridge, Piatt and Stewart; honorary secretary, Miss E. M. Statham; committee, Mesdames Burgess, Mains, B. Clark, L. Phillips, St. Clair lnglis, Dromgool, Haddow and Williams. Miss -Young, organising secretary for Auckland, gave an interesting account of her visit to London, where she met several important members of the society. Mr. Hamilton, of the China Inland Mission, also spoke. The former president, Mrs. Todd-Smith, who held office at the request of the committee even after she left the district, was accorded a vote of thanks. A welcome was extended to the-Rev. L. Cartridge. Afternoon tea was served by members of the Presbyterian Ladies' Social Club.
