Y.W.C.A. ACTIVITIES
The fortnightly meeting of the Business and Professional Women's Club was* held on Monday. The speaker was Mr. Harry Shove, who gave an informative talk on the events leading up to the present conflict between Japan and China. The club's closing function has been fixed for November. A musicale was held on Sunday afternoon. The Assembly Hall was gaily decorated with masses of Iceland poppies and arum lilies. Mr. L. Mair presided. The speaker was the Rev. F. «T. Handy, who discussed the relationships of modern men and women under the heading of "This New Morality." Vocal items were contributed by Miss B. Weir and Mr. Robert Summers, with Mrs. Reginald Reed as accompanist.
