SUCCESSFUL YEAR
A. AND P. ASSOCIATION THE WINTER EXHIBITION A satisfactory financial position is revealed in the 84th annual report of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association, which is to be presented at the animal meeting this month. Although both the showgrounds and general revenue accounts show a loss for the year, the annual show and a gymkhana held during Navy Week returned favourable balance sheets. Much of the loss on the showgrounds was incurred through constructional work.
The postponement of the Winter Exhibition brought the financial returns from this fixture into next year's accounts, and had these been included in the balance-sheet for the current veiir the position would be even more satisfactory. Concern is expressed by the association regarding future accommodation for the exhibition.
The value of the new show ring at Epsom is emphasised in the report, wnich states that the whole character of the show has been changed by the better accommodation. Membership of the association has shown a considerable increase during the year.
