SEAFARERS' SERVICE
ANNUAL THANKSGIVING Tho annual national seafarers' service will be held at St. Matthew's Church at 10 o'clock on Sunday, October 17. Representatives of tho Royal Navy, tho Merchant Service, tho Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve and various maritiino organisations will bo present. Tho service will bo a thanksgiving for past mercies and an invocation of God's blessing on ships and those who sail in them from the port of Auckland during the coming year. Representatives of ships in port, the Auckland Harhour Board, shipping companies and agencies and yacht clubs have been invited to present their house flags for blessing at the service. The church party from tho Royal Navy will march from tho Admiralty steps with the band of H.M.S. Achilles.
