Each side won one four-ball match, while in the singles New Zealand won three to tho visitors' one. Thus over the whole series Australia lost the cup by four games to two.

The first hole was halved in fours, but the second went to New Zealand, where, following upon bad drives in both instances, Miss EZernot placed her

third within a yard of tho pin. Her partner missed the putt, however, which allowed their opponents to secure a 4, against a 5. Tho third and fourth holes were halved in fours. Tho Australians were able to square the match at the fifth, whero Mrs. Hollis found a bunker, and Mrs. Ful-lerton-Smith's recovery was too strong.
