ALLEGED POACHING
JAPANESE FISHING BOAT DUTCH DESTROYER FIRES EAST INDIES ENCOUNTER (Received October 3, 5.5 p.m.) THE HAGUE. Oct. 2 A Dutch destroyer fired on a escaping Japanese fishing vessel in the Dutch East Indies. A message from Singapore says the Japanese fishing boat was the Tokei Maru. She was alleged to have beoa in Dutch territorial waters in the Rhic archipelago and was ordered to stop several times by the destroyer Flores. Eventually a warning shot was fired and then another. A third shot hit the boat, killing two men and wounding two. The rest were captured.
